This rare Garcia sales catalog was made in 1929 and includes the full line of Garcia saddles, bits, spurs, boots, harnesses and many more items. This one catalog was used from 1929 in Elko, Nevada and continued to be used until 1936 after the Company had moved to Salinas, California.
The original catalog number 27, and 1929 date was lined over and
a temporary Catalog Number of 29 and new date of 1936 was stamped on the front.
This stamp was to make customers aware that the prices listed in the catalog were from 1929 not 1936.
Catalog includes beautiful line drawings, product specifications and prices.
G. S. Garcia's sons, Less and Henry took over their father's business in 1932, a year before their father's death in Elko, Nevada. In 1935 or 1936 the sons moved the business to Salinas, CA and named the business "Garcia Saddlery Company."
The business was closed during WWII and reopened in 1946. The two worked together until 1957 when Henry bought Less out and Less moved to Reno, NV.
The Garcia name is representative of some of the finest craftsmanship found in bits and spurs.
Garcia bits were highly sought after for working use, amongst cowboys, cattlemen and trainers. Even today these beautiful and functional masterpieces are admired and utilized by horseman and collectors everywhere.
