The Hermann H. Heiser

Saddlery Co.

 Catalog No. 14

Denver, Colorado

Illustrated Catalog on CD

A German emigrant who opened his first saddle shop in Plattville, Wisconsin around 1850. Joined the westward migration to the Colorado Rockies in 1853 taking advantage of the frontier law by making custom gun leather for his new customers. Moved to Denver in 1859 following the discovery of gold at Cherry Creek. Heiser's reputation as a craftsman had preceded him and business was brisk. It was here that he started using the Triple H trademark, the ninth registered in the State of Colorado. Heiser is known to have made some of the saddles for the Rocky Mountain Division of the Pony Express. When Hermann died suddenly in 1904, the founder's three sons, Ewald, John and Arthur took over. Later Ewald purchased his brothers' interest and operated the business until 1945 when he sold out to the Denver Dry Goods Company.

This is a 1908-10 circa Retail Catalog depicting The "House of Heiser" full line of Gun Scabbards, Pistol Holsters, Belts and Novelty Leather Goods.
